April Lockhart
April Lockhart was born on July 4, 1995. In seventh grade she began playing guitar and piano lessons, sparking her passion for music writing. When she was 12 years old, April came up with her first original song Different. The singer spent much of her time at 14 making songs and practicing music. In the following months, April started taking trips across NY and LA together with her father so that they could both write songs. April also included additional topics in her song, Take my Hand. These topics were for friends that dealt with things like peer pressure disabilities or even teen suicidal thoughts. Lockhart, a popular lifestyle blogger and having partnerships with clean-cut beauty brands Ilia, has built a large fan base. Her birthplace didn't come having a left-handed hand, which is the reason she's what she is. However, that's not all the facts. The account on Instagram of Lockhart doesn't deny her disability. But it also doesn't emphasize it. What message is it sending? that we are all a part of a multitude of identities and that we're much more than our physical selves. Lockhart has stated on video that she does not want to be defined by her disability. She doesn't want to become a disability advocate who only talks about that. There are a lot of aspects of Lockhart. It doesn't impact my day-to-day life I do every day as normal and have found my own method of adjusting things. It's an integral element of my life therefore it's important to talk about it. Lockhart has been a great source of inspiration for her female friends in the area of acceptance of oneself. Yet, she confesses that she has had periods that made her feel uncomfortable about her appearance and wearing clothing which displayed her arms. She is able to wear anything she'd like, and happily shares pictures of her dressed in her favorite outfits. The journey itself is the most important thing. I'm not certain that will ever be the end of self-love. It's the same for everybody regardless of their insecurity. It's my opinion that having those around you who really know you and see the depths of your soul is vital because they'll be the people who will remind you what you concerned about?
